Most people are used to quartz heaters, but these are different. They use a carbon fiber filament that pushes out far-infrared heat. Instead of just blasting the surface and risking a scorch mark, this heat actually sinks deep into the ink layers. It’s a much gentler way to get a professional finish. The power and the fit We settled on 700W over a 360mm length because it hits that sweet spot for flash-drying. It gives you a concentrated punch of heat that gets the job done fast, so your garments aren’t sitting under the lamp longer than they need to. We kept the size tight so they slide right into most standard dryer banks. Just a heads-up: don’t go overboard with the wattage if your conveyor is moving slowly. You don’t want to accidentally toast your shirts. Why carbon fiber? Here’s the cool part. The heart of the lamp is carbon fiber. Unlike metal coils that can warp or snap when they heat up and cool down rapidly, carbon fiber just handles it. It’s tough. And since these far-infrared waves match the way polymer-based inks absorb heat, you aren’t wasting energy. It’s just efficient. It works. Setting them up and keeping them running These are designed to be simple drop-in replacements. When you’re wiring them up, just double-check that your controllers are okay with the resistance of carbon fiber elements. Print shops are dusty—we get it. That’s why we shielded the filament so it doesn’t burn out prematurely. One last tip: since this heat is a bit more subtle, the distance between the lamp and your print matters. If they’re too far apart, you’ll get cold spots. Every few months, give your mounting brackets a quick look to make sure everything is still lined up perfectly. Your prints will thank you.
