What Makes These Lamps Tick: Power and Setup

We built these carbon fiber far infrared lamps to do one thing really well: deliver focused heat right where you need it. To get that kind of punch, we run them on 400V with a 2500W rating. That’s the sweet spot for high-density heating, letting the 300mm tube put out serious heat without taking up a lot of space. The 400V also keeps the current draw reasonable on industrial lines. Just keep in mind your control gear needs to match that 400V rating. As for the length, 300mm hits a nice balance. It’s long enough to cover a solid heating zone, but short enough to slip into tight spots without extra clearance you don’t need.

Inside the Build: Halogen, Quartz, and the Right Connections

At the core, you’ve got a quartz envelope filled with halogen. That combo keeps the filament stable and stretches the lamp’s working life. The carbon fiber element is tuned for steady far infrared emission. It penetrates materials more evenly than shortwave IR, so you get consistent heating across the target. Then there’s the reflective coating on the outer jacket. It pushes energy forward, so more of the heat goes where you want it and less is wasted. For installation, we use an R7s base. It’s an industrial standard for a reason: solid contact retention, and you can swap lamps quickly when you’re on the machine.

Where It Shines: Tough, Focused Heat for Real Work

These lamps are made for demanding industrial heating—think PET blowing and plastic forming. The far infrared profile heats polymers evenly, which helps reduce thin spots and stress lines that can show up with uneven heat. The 300mm tube and 2500W rating get you to target temperature fast. That kind of power is great, but it does mean the surrounding fixtures and cooling need to be sized right to handle the ambient heat.
