The reality of heat density
Whether you’re curing adhesives or reflowing solder, you’ve got one main goal: hit that temperature profile without frying your boards. If you’re relying on convection, you’re basically heating up the entire room just to warm up a small piece of plastic. It’s a waste. Shortwave IR is different. It hits the material directly. By tweaking the wattage and voltage, we can put the energy right where the bond happens. Because the heat is so concentrated, you can actually shrink your heating zone. The trade-offs (because there’s always a catch)
There is no “perfect” spec sheet. Everything is a balance. Take high-output quartz lamps. They ramp up incredibly fast, which is great for speed, but they’ll put a lot of stress on your power supply. If you crank up the wattage to move the line faster, you have to make sure your fans and vents can actually pull that heat away. If they can’t, your lamps will burn out early or your PCBs will warp. It’s a headache you don’t want. That’s where we come in. We help you find the sweet spot—like deciding between coated or uncoated tubes based on what your materials actually absorb.
