We built this carbon fiber IR heat tube lamp for the tight spots—the places where you need heat fast, and you don’t have room to waste time or space. It’s a quartz halogen shortwave emitter, designed to deliver a sharp, focused blast of heat right where you need it, without turning the whole machine cell into a sauna.
Power, Voltage, and Size: What You Get
The tube is 300mm long and packs 2500W of output. We run it at 400V, which pushes the current through a compact resistive path, so you get serious heat density in a small footprint. That voltage choice eases the load on the power supply, but it also means your control gear and wiring need to be rated for 400V. Plan your insulation and clearances with that in mind.
Material and Design: Built to Take It
The quartz envelope can handle the shock of rapid on/off cycling without cracking. Inside, the halogen fill keeps the filament steady, so output stays consistent over the life of the lamp—and it helps prevent early burnouts. The carbon fiber build adds mechanical strength and improves thermal management, cutting down on hot spots. And the R7s connector is a simple, straight-through two-pin setup, so in many fixtures it’s a straight swap.
Where It Shines (And What to Keep in Mind)
Use this lamp when you need fast, focused infrared heating—think plastic forming, drying, and curing. The shortwave response means it heats up quickly and cools down quickly, which can tighten up your cycle time. Just keep in mind: the surface flux is intense. The target has to handle that heat, and the surrounding equipment needs proper shielding and cooling.
