We built these specifically for printing lines, where you need heat that’s fast, focused, and doesn’t hog space. The whole idea is simple: a carbon fiber element inside a quartz tube, running as a shortwave infrared source. This isn’t some all-purpose heater. It’s a precision piece, designed to slip right into a printing machine zone and give you temperature control you can count on, time after time.
What makes it tick
Printing machines are hungry. They need a lot of heat packed into a small footprint, and these tubes are built to deliver. We’re talking 2500W of power packed into a 300mm active length. That’s serious watt density, and it’s what lets you hit your target temperature almost instantly. To get that kind of punch without frying the element, we run it at 400V. It’s a trade-off, for sure. You get lightning-fast heat-up, but your control panel and wiring need to be ready for that concentrated power.
The guts of it
Quartz is the tube material for a reason. It handles sudden temperature swings like a champ and stays rock-solid even when things get scorching. Inside, the carbon fiber filament gives us predictable resistance and a super-quick response. That matters when you’re flicking the heat on and off to keep pace with the print speed. And the gold coating? That’s the secret sauce. It reflects the infrared right back onto the target, so you waste less energy and get more even heating across the zone. Mounting is easy, too. The R7s connector gives you a secure, no-fuss electrical connection. Wire it up, swap it out—no need to mess with the machine bracket.
Where it shines
In a printing machine, you’re typically using this lamp to pre-heat or dry inks and coatings. The shortwave IR gets right into thin films without overheating the base material, and the fast response keeps up with tight production windows. The 300mm length is a perfect fit for standard zones, so it’s a straightforward drop-in replacement. One thing to keep in mind: that 2500W density puts out a lot of ambient heat. Make sure your cooling and thermal shielding are up to the task, so the other components in the enclosure don’t get cooked.
